Make Me an Author

You have a voice and a message to share and now is the time to be heard.

If you want to develop, write, and publish a book, an online course, or a series of workshops, I can help you do that. Maybe you aren't ready for a book, but you want to start a blog or an intentional daily writing practice that will eventually lead to you becoming an author. I can help you do that too. In fact, in the last 20 years, I have helped hundreds of people do just that. First as an executive developement editor in corporate publishing and then as a high-level book and writing coach in self-publishing, I have helped people to create just what they want to put out into the world, time after time.

Jump Start Program: $2,797.00

The Jump Start package is a 15-hour intensive program. The sessions need to take place within a 2-4 week period maximum to create urgency, movement, and momentum. We meet together in person or virtually via zoom video conference and start at the beginning or wherever you are in the process.

We look at the “story” you want to tell (even non-fiction books have a “story”), how you want to tell it, and then we map it out in detail so that you have a very concrete and specific outline in which you will write. We also create a plan for and begin to build your daily and weekly writing practice if you do not already have a consistent practice in place. Once we have created your "book map" we start co-writing the book together in real time to get you on your way (if there is time left in the 15 hours -- there usually is).

Creating Flow Package: $4,397.00

The Creating Flow package is a 6 day package (4-hour sessions on each day). The sessions need to take place within a 2-6 week period maximum to create urgency, movement, and momentum. We meet together in person or virtually via zoom video conference and start at the beginning or wherever you are in the process. (This program can also be completed in 3 days, with advance notice and scheduling.)

We also create a plan for and begin to build your daily and weekly writing practice if you do not already have a consistent practice in place. If you do have a writing practice in place and are having difficulty we strategize solutions on how to create a practice that works for you. Once we have created your "book map" we start co-writing the book together in real time. We address any writer's blocks, inner critic issues, limiting beliefs or anything else that may be holding you back as they arise.

The Writer's Workshop Package: $6,997.00

The Writer's Workshop package is a 5 day (8-hour sessions each day) or 10 day package (4-hour sessions on each day). The sessions need to take place within a 4-10 week period maximum to create urgency, movement, and momentum. We meet together in person or virtually via zoom video conference and start at the beginning or wherever you are in the process.

The Process

At the beginning of our work together I will ask you to complete seven writing exercises. These writing exercises serve multiple purposes:

  1. The writing exercises enable you to begin a consistent writing practice (daily or almost daily) in an easy, low-stakes environment — i.e., it’s not writing for your book. As you begin to settle into the habit and pattern of writing daily you will also ease into the vulnerability of writing.
  2. The writing exercises intentionally ask you to focus on the purpose of writing your book — your big WHY. If you do not have a passion for what you are writing, your momentum will eventually fizzle. These writing exercises will allow you to capture your excitement and passion for a future day when you might be struggling.
  3. The writing exercises specifically ask you to focus on who your reader is and why they need this book in particular. You need to know your demographic in general as well as the specific person to whom you are writing. If you can picture your reader it is easier to write for that person (or those people).

In essence, these writing exercises help us to set the stage for the actual writing of the book on both a personal and professional level. They allow you to begin thinking of this project as an actual book and build the excitement and momentum you will need as you enter the next phase of the book writing process.

As part of all of these packages we will set up writing goals and milestones (both short term and long term). I will also offer you a place of accountability for these goals. During our work together we will meet as needed via video conference or in person to discuss wins, challenges, or any issues that come up as the writing and work on the book takes place. Writing a book is an extremely vulnerable process and brings up a lot. As a coach, I can help you through these places and I can create a safe container where you can share feelings and emotions as they come up. I will also help you cultivate and build tools to support you as these feelings, thoughts, and emotions arise.
